1. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account, browsing listings, posting a product, paying for an order, funding a wallet, buying a seller service, sending messages, submitting verification details, or using any part of UniDeal, you agree to these Terms of Service and all marketplace rules shown on the platform.
If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use UniDeal. UniDeal may update these terms from time to time. When important changes are made, the updated version will be published on this page and may also be communicated through dashboard notices or email.
2. What UniDeal provides
UniDeal provides an online marketplace designed to help students and campus communities discover, list, buy, sell, promote, and manage products more safely. The platform may include product listings, seller public pages, protected checkout, wallet funding, order tracking, seller subscriptions, product boosts, featured listings, paid adverts, reviews, Q&A, reports, alerts, moderation, and support tools.
UniDeal is not the owner of every item listed by sellers. Sellers remain responsible for the accuracy, quality, safety, legality, availability, delivery, and description of the products they list. UniDeal may, however, moderate listings, restrict accounts, delay transactions, remove content, or require verification where necessary for trust and safety.
3. Account registration and eligibility
- You must provide accurate account information and keep it updated.
- You are responsible for protecting your login details, PINs, verification codes, and account sessions.
- You must not create fake accounts, impersonate another person, abuse referrals, manipulate reviews, bypass platform rules, or use another person’s account without permission.
- Where the system requires email, phone, identity, campus, Telegram, or other verification, certain actions may be restricted until verification is completed.
- Users who are under the age of legal capacity must use UniDeal only with appropriate parent, guardian, or lawful supervision where required.
4. Seller responsibilities
Sellers must list only products they are allowed to sell, use clear descriptions, upload accurate images, state realistic prices, honour confirmed orders, respond responsibly to buyers, and avoid misleading claims. Sellers must not use product pages, messages, images, or public seller profiles to avoid platform safety controls or move protected transactions outside UniDeal where the platform requires protected checkout.
Seller public pages, badges, store reactions, highlights, collections, update posts, adverts, boosts, and featured listings are marketplace tools. UniDeal may moderate, hide, reject, pause, or remove these tools if they breach marketplace rules, mislead users, create safety risk, or require admin approval.
5. Buyer responsibilities
Buyers must review product details carefully before purchase, ask relevant questions, pay only through approved payment methods where protected checkout is required, keep pickup or delivery arrangements safe and respectful, and report suspicious activity promptly. Buyers must not make false reports, abuse dispute systems, harass sellers, or attempt fraudulent chargebacks.
6. Product listings, reviews, Q&A, and user content
Any content you submit to UniDeal, including listings, seller updates, reviews, questions, answers, profile details, images, adverts, and messages, must be accurate, lawful, respectful, and consistent with marketplace policies. You grant UniDeal permission to host, display, process, moderate, index, share within the platform, and use that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the marketplace.
UniDeal may remove content or restrict access if it is misleading, harmful, abusive, unsafe, fraudulent, spammy, or violates these terms or marketplace rules. Reviews and helpful votes must reflect genuine marketplace experience and must not be manipulated.
7. Payments, wallet, adverts, boosts, and subscriptions
UniDeal may support automated payment processors, wallet payments, and manual bank transfer where enabled by admin. Automated payment activation depends on successful verification from the payment processor. Manual transfer may require proof review and admin approval before value is applied.
Seller subscriptions, product boosts, featured listings, and paid adverts are subject to the package details, duration, moderation rules, and system settings shown at the point of purchase. Product boosts, featured listings, and seller plan upgrades may activate automatically after verified automated payment, while paid adverts may require admin approval before going live if advert approval is enabled.
8. Off-platform activity and safety controls
UniDeal may restrict attempts to share contact details, bypass protected checkout, manipulate conversations, or move protected transactions outside the platform where doing so creates risk for buyers, sellers, or the marketplace. Some contact details may be hidden until a protected transaction is completed or otherwise allowed by system rules.
9. Disputes and moderation
UniDeal may provide dispute, report, review, seller update moderation, advert review, and trust-safety tools. The platform may request evidence, review account history, inspect payment status, check listing details, and take action such as pausing listings, withholding activation, reversing platform wallet value, warning users, restricting accounts, or escalating matters where necessary.
10. Service availability
UniDeal works to keep the platform available, secure, and useful, but does not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, third-party payment downtime, network errors, hosting issues, gateway delays, API failures, or security incidents may affect availability or processing times.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, UniDeal is not liable for indirect loss, loss of profit, loss caused by inaccurate seller information, user misconduct, third-party gateway downtime, failed delivery by a seller, or off-platform arrangements made outside UniDeal’s approved process. Nothing in these terms removes any consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Termination or restriction
UniDeal may suspend, restrict, or terminate access where a user breaches these terms, creates safety risk, violates marketplace policies, abuses payments or refunds, submits false information, or attempts to compromise the system.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Users should first contact UniDeal support for platform-related issues so that complaints can be reviewed and resolved fairly.
Release Code authorization and protected settlement
For orders using the simplified Release Code process, payment is verified and held by UniDeal, the seller accepts the paid order, and the buyer receives and inspects the item before deliberately revealing a one-time Release Code. Successful entry of a buyer-authorized Release Code constitutes the buyer’s confirmation of handover and authorizes escrow settlement, unless an approved dispute, fraud review, account restriction, or administrative hold is already active.
Buyers must not reveal the code before inspection or send it through chat, phone, WhatsApp, Telegram, email, or another channel in advance. UniDeal staff will not request the code outside the protected order page. If anything is wrong, the buyer must keep the code private and open a dispute.
